'Life changing': No-cost home makeover answers Fort Myers woman's prayers (naplesnews.com) — A 77-year-old Fort Myers homeowner just received a complete, no-cost home makeover after hurricanes and tornadoes left her house unsafe, thanks to Lee BIA Builders Care and Lennar. Crews rebuilt her home from the studs out in under three weeks, adding a new roof, windows, HVAC, appliances, furniture, landscaping, and even holiday decorations and pantry staples, giving her a safe place to live again.
   

2. Fort Myers Florida Man Arrested After Road Rage Assault Co-Starring a Baseball Bat (motorbiscuit.com) — A road rage confrontation on Alico Road in Fort Myers ended with a semi-truck driver hospitalized with minor injuries and a North Fort Myers man arrested after allegedly attacking with a baseball bat. Deputies and safety experts are urging local drivers to stay in their vehicles, avoid engaging angry motorists, create distance when possible, and call 911 if they feel threatened.
   

3. Fort Myers man arrested for driving 133 mph on Interstate 75 in Lee County (fox4now.com) — A 20-year-old Fort Myers resident was arrested after state troopers say he drove 133 mph on I-75 in Lee County, north of Alico Road. He faces charges under Florida’s “Super Speeder” law, which can bring fines, possible jail time, and license penalties. Troopers are using the case to remind local drivers to slow down and follow posted limits.
   

4. The Clark Kent of ecologists (floridaweekly.com) — FGCU ecologist Win Everham is leading students in restoring mangroves at Bowditch Point on Fort Myers Beach to create a natural buffer against future hurricanes. Despite a federal grant being abruptly cut, local support and student-grown mangrove propagules are helping rebuild coastal resilience while giving young people hands-on experience protecting Southwest Florida’s shoreline.
