Future Movie Star Starts 1st Grade

Meet Lutz Preparatory student Annabella McTigue: reader, artist and star-in-training.

Lutz kids rock. We know it. You know it. So that's why we wanted to find out more about what makes them tick, and share their awesomeness with our Lutz Patch readers.

Meet Anabella McTigue, 6, a first-grader at Lutz Preparatory Academy. She's also a big sister to twins, not always an easy job, but she likes it—"sometimes," she said.

As a kindergartener, Annabella's favorite thing was the library. "There were books that inspired me," she said. "My favorite book is 'Pinkalicious.' I like that she cooks cupcakes and she turns pink."

As a new first-grader, Annabella looks forward to learning about lots of things: "How things move, how you can understand people who don't talk— like mimes—(and)  about kinetic stuff," she said.

And when it comes to being a big sister, Annabella said she likes it "kind of but not sometimes."

"But I like when I get to take care of them," she added.

"Annabella loves sweets and being the center of attention. She has worked hard to be a fantastic reader, is a great artist, and gets to start reading Harry Potter with her mama this year," mom Sara McTigue said.

So what does she want to be when she grows up?

"A movie star," Annabella said.
