Florida Deaths Rise To 46; 3,198 Coronavirus Cases

Here is the latest total of coronavirus cases for each of Florida's 67 counties as of Friday night.

TALLAHASSEE, FL — The number of coronavirus cases in Florida rose to 3,198 Friday night as the death toll climbed to 46, including the first two deaths in Miami-Dade County. The case total includes 144 people from other areas who tested positive in the state.

As the number of new cases continues to rise, many Florida cities and municipalities have responded with curfews and what officials call safer at home orders to limit the spread of the contagious respiratory illness.

The city of Miami joined other Florida cities in imposing a daily curfew at 10 p.m. Friday. Miami's curfew runs until 5 a.m. each morning.

Palm Beach County, which is just north of Broward County, has 241 cases.

Hillsborough County, which includes Tampa has 168 cases and Orange County, which includes Orlando has 160 cases.

Eighteen Florida counties still had no cases at all as of Friday, which is one reason why Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said he has not issued a stay-at-home order for the entire state. Suwannee County reported its first case Friday while Washington County reported its first case on Thursday night.
