MIAMI, FL — Two men suffered machete wounds Monday afternoon during a confrontation in the Coconut Grove section of Miami.

"The victim was approached in an aggressive manner by a suspect armed with a machete," explained Officer Kiara Delva of the Miami Police Department. "Subsequently, an altercation ensued between the two."

The incident happened in the 3700 block of Grand Avenue around 2:56 p.m. Miami Fire Rescue took both men to Jackson Memorial Hospital in stable condition.

"The victim was able to defend himself, take the machete away from the offender and actually stab the offender back," Lt. Freddie Cruz of the Miami Police Department told reporters at the scene.

Helicopter video from WPLG-TV showed a bicycle laying on the side of the road near the machete along with a set of dentures.
