1. Police responded to a call of a shooting that left one adult male dead at around 1:55 a.m. on Saturday at a party at an Airbnb in Miramar. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. An investigation is underway and anyone with information is asked to contact Broward County Crime Stoppers. (WSVN)

2. Florida Senator Linda Stewart (D-Orlando) filed a bill Friday requiring apartment employees to undergo background screenings. The bill is inspired by and named after Miya Marcano, a 19-year-old college student believed to have been killed by apartment maintenance worker, Armando Caballero. It also strengthens the requirements regarding a person's access to individual apartment units. (WTSP)

3. One person was injured in an apparent gas explosion at a Miami-Dade home early Saturday morning near Southwest 114th Street and 145th Avenue. One adult was injured and rushed to Kendall Regional Medical Center. (WPLG Local 10)

4. All 8 school districts that faced financial penalties from Florida because of mask mandates have now reversed course. The districts cited declining cases and efforts to get students vaccinated as the reason why. (Creative Loafing)

5. Dukunoo Jamaican Kitchen in Wynwood is owned by a husband and wife team, Rodrick Leighton and Dr. Shrusan Gray. Dr. Gray manages to both be an OB-GYN by day and a restaurateur. The restaurant sells island favorites such as fish bites, snapper, plantains, and more. (CBS Miami)
