BMW Recovered In Wynwood Carjacking

Miami police are still searching for two men who stole the silver BMW at gunpoint in an overnight carjacking that occurred in Wynwood.

MIAMI, FL — Miami police have recovered a silver BMW taken in a Tuesday morning carjacking in which the victim was shot in the leg. The incident occurred at 3:35 a.m. in the 2300 block of NW 2 Ave. The victim was listed in stable condition at Jackson Memorial Hospital's Ryder Trauma Center.

Officer Michael Vega of the Miami Police Department told patch that the BMW was recovered in Opa-Locka later in the morning.

He said that the victim and a friend were stopped by two men as they walked along NW 2 Avenue.

"They were walking to their vehicle, a BMW when two black males approached them and demanded the vehicle," Vega said. "There was a shot fired that hit the victim on one of the legs."

He said that police are still searching for the bandits. They both were described as 5 feet 9 inches tall and about 160 pounds.
