1. Miami-Dade Commissioner Joe Martinez is charged with unlawful compensation and conspiracy to commit unlawful compensation, according to an arrest warrant. Police allege Martinez received $15,000 in payments from a business owner facing code violations. Martinez has vowed to fight the charges. (WSVN)
2. Sports & Social, a new dining and entertainment venue, has been announced at Miami Worldcenter. It will include an open-air restaurant on the 3rd floor overlooking the World Square public park and plaza. (The Next Miami)
3. Hollywood Police detectives are investigating a double homicide that occurred Monday night. The incident happened at a home near Wiley Street and Southwest 56th Avenue. Anyone with information is asked to call Hollywood Police Department at 954-764-4357(HELP) or 954-967-4411. (CBS Miami)
4. Dubai's Emirates is matching the passenger count of Qatar Airways, just one year into its stay at Miami International Airport (MIA) with 15,904 passengers. July 2022 was the first month that Emirates served MIA daily. (The Next Miami)
5. City of Miami has donated $200,000 to Lotus Village, the nation's largest shelter dedicated to women and children, for job training programs. The money is from a $3.1 million federal grant to help address homelessness. Mayor Francis Suarez announced the donation on Tuesday in Overtown. (Subscription: Miami Herald, Free: WSVN)

- The 1st Annual Citrus Circuit Short Film Festival will showcase 14 movies at its downtown Miami premiere event this weekend at SilverSpot Cinema. Festival organizers received over 70 entries from countries all over the world. (Miami's Community News)
- Miami-native Miguel Rischmaui, an FIU graduate and former head of the FIU Japan Club, currently is working in Takaoka, Toyama Prefecture, Japan through the Japan Exchange and Teaching Program (JET). Rischmaui volunteered at the Tokyo Olympics. (Miami's Community News)
- A man accused of shooting a student during a $1 robbery in Miami Beach, 25-year-old Ranier Figueroa, is also facing charges in a separate violent robbery that happened on a different day. (NBC Miami)
