CORAL GABLES, FL — A Coral Gables homeowner opened fire on two intruders who kicked open the front door of his home Saturday. Twenty-two-year-old Nicolas Dar Desrosier was taken into custody nine hours later and charged with occupied burglary and resisting officers without violence, according to Coral Gables police.
Officer Kelly Denham of the Coral Gables Police Department said the homeowner called 9-1-1 to report the incident at 9:43 a.m.
"Both subjects fled back to a 2017 or 2018 Silver Nissan Altima after the homeowner confronted them and fired shots," said Denham.

Denham said police set up a perimeter and deployed K-9 units in the area.
"At 6:43 p.m., the subject was located by K-9 officers at the 4100 Block of University Drive and taken into custody without incident," Denham explained.
The search included ground units from the Coral Gables and Miami-Dade Police Departments, a Miami-Dade Police helicopter unit and SWAT members from Coral Gables.
"This is an ongoing investigation as the subject in custody could possibly be linked to
several other residential burglaries in the Coral Gables and surrounding areas," Denham added.
