As popularity of E-bikes, E-scooters rises, so do reports of injuries to children (cbsnews.com) — Miami parents are being urged to take e-bike and e-scooter safety seriously as Nicklaus Children’s Hospital reports child injuries nearly doubling between 2023 and 2025. 3. Man douses neighbors in gas on Christmas. He threatened to burn them alive: cops (miamiherald.com) — Miami-Dade deputies arrested a 52-year-old man accused of dousing six neighbors with gasoline during a Christmas gathering on Northwest 31st Street and threatening serious harm. The group was in their backyard when fuel was thrown over the fence, leading to multiple assault and battery charges and his jailing at Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.
   

4. Deputies: Miami man steals 400 pounds of avocados to buy his kids Christmas presents, he claimed (fox35orlando.com) — Miami-Dade deputies say they caught a man taking roughly 400 pounds of avocados from a fenced Miami grove, after responding to a trespass and grand theft call. The suspect allegedly told investigators he planned to sell the fruit to buy Christmas presents for his two children, according to an arrest affidavit from the sheriff’s office.
