1. Broward School Board Chair Dr. Rosalind Osgood has resigned from her seat on the board to run for an empty state Senate seat after a contentious fight with Governor DeSantis over mask rules in schools. Florida's resign-to-run law is the reason for her resignation. Governor Ron DeSantis will pick her replacement on the school board that will last through at least summer. (CBS Miami)

2. Slamdance wrapped up its first year in Miami Beach. It featured 18 films from filmmakers in 9 countries for screening at the debut event held at Miami Beach's North Beach Bandshell. The film event will return next year. (RE:MiamiBeach)
3. Wynwood is still waiting for transportation officials to pick a location for rapid transit in the population dense area. The chairman of Wynwood Business Improvement District says the private sector is committed to working with the county to help shield the cost of building a transit station and was hoping for progress by early 2022. 4. Cry Baby Creamery is a new speakeasy-inspired shop offering handcrafted ice cream and sweets in Palmetto Bay. The shop has a focus on partnerships with local creators including Per'la Coffee and Exquisito Chocolate. Flavors include Pastelito, Espumita Boss, Party Animal, Milk & Cookies, and more. 5. Florida State Senator Joe Gruters (R-Sarasota) wants to strip away the Florida Department of Health's authority to mandate vaccines for state residents. The senator's bill is identical to two state house bills as the battle over vaccine mandates continues. (Patch Sarasota)
