Miami police said two young brothers who were believed to have been taken by their father are safe.

MIAMI, FL — Miami police said two young brothers who were believed to have been taken by their father are safe.
Police asked for the public's help in finding the Zak Gotay and his two children on Friday night, according to Officer Kiara Delva of the Miami Police Department.
"The missing children have been safely recovered," Officer Kiara Delva of the Miami Police Department confirmed early Saturday afternoon. The announcement followed the cancellation of a statewide missing child alert by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.

Delva did not immediately say whether the father had been involved. She said Friday that he was was believed to have abducted his two sons, both wearing only dinosaur shirts and diapers. "Neither are wearing pants or shoes," Delva said at the time.

The children were taken from an apartment in the 400 block of NE 37 Street on Friday. No further details were immediately available.
