FBI Makes Arrest In Aventura, Hollywood Bank Robberies

The FBI said Friday that a 30-year-old Hollywood man has been arrested in connection with two Miami area bank robberies.

AVENTURA, FL — The FBI said Friday that a 30-year-old Hollywood man has been arrested in connection with two Miami area bank robberies that took place earlier this week in Aventura and Hollywood.

Eric Roberts was arrested without incident Thursday afternoon in Opa Locka, according to Special Agent Michael D. Leverock and spokesman Jim Marshall with the FBI in Miami.

"Roberts is in federal custody and is facing federal charges," Leverock and Marshall said.

Roberts is suspected in the robbery of the Citibank branch at 2750 Aventura Blvd. in Aventura on Wednesday and the BB&T Bank branch at 2434 Hollywood Blvd, Hollywood on Tuesday.

The investigation is being conducted by the Aventura Police Department, Hollywood Police Department, South Florida Violent Crime Fugitive Task Force and the FBI.
