FL Coronovirus Cases Climb To 27,058

The number of coronavirus cases in Florida were up slightly overnight to 27,058 as of Monday night.

TALLAHASSEE, FL — The number of coronavirus cases in Florida rose to 27,058 Monday night, an increase of 744 cases over the previous 24-hour period.

The number of deaths in Florida from the virus rose to 823 Monday night, up from 774. That represents an additional 49 people who lost their lives to the virus in the previous 24-hour period.

Miami-Dade County reported 16 new deaths Monday. Broward County reported seven new deaths. Orange Countyreported four more deaths as did Sarasota County.

Indian River County reported one new death as did Duval County, Collier County and Palm Beach County. Charlotte County reported two new deaths as did Polk County and Suwannee County.

Hendry County and Madison County reported their first deaths from the virus. Highlands County reported one new death as did Lake County and Lee County.

There were a total of 4,000 hospitalizations from the virus in Florida as of Monday night. The state had a 9.9 percent positive test rate out of total 273,552 tests.

Miami-Dade reported 9,657 cases as of Monday night, more than any Florida County. Broward County, which includes Fort Lauderdale, reported 4,078 cases. Palm Beach County, which includes West Palm Beach, reported 2,260 cases.

Hillsborough County, which includes Tampa, reported 973 cases as of Monday night. Orange County, which includes Orlando, reported 1,216 cases.
