MIAMI, FL — If you're planning a summer vacation with your family, you may not need to look any further than your own backyard. A new study by personal finance website WalletHub ranked the Sunshine State the second most "fun" state in America.

"There are certain states where fun is not just an option but also a way of life. These states offer such a variety of activities that everyone will be able to find something that excites them," said WalletHub in releasing its findings on Monday.

To find the states with the greatest variety and most cost-effective options for enjoyment, WalletHub compared all 50 states across 26 key metrics. "The data set ranges from movie costs to accessibility of national parks to casinos per capita," according to the website.
