Here are the top five stories today in Miami:
1. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has filed a complaint against a Miami venue that hosted a drag show with kids called R House Wynwood, escalating an ongoing battle with the LGBTQ community. DeSantis held a press conference condemning the business. The state is targeting the liquor license of the business and has accused the venue of breaking multiple state laws. (Miami Patch)
2. Doris Italian Market & Bakery is celebrating 75 years in South Florida from what started as humble beginnings. The family business now boasts five locations in Broward and Palm Beach counties. (Miami New Times)
3. The developer of the Mohawk At Wynwood apartments has signed a deal with Miami-Dade County for utility services, including water and sewer utilities. Construction is expected to begin in 2023. (The Next Miami)
4. Time Out's 2022 City Index has ranked Miami the third rudest city in the world. Miami was beat out by Berlin and Hong Kong on the index and also ranked high for being a difficult place to make friends. (Time Out Miami)
5. A Miami couple was arrested after they allegedly stole hundreds of gallons of diesel fuel from a 7-Eleven located on Tamiami Trail, according to police. The two were charged with fuel by fraudulent means. (Fox 4)
