FLORIDA — If you picked up a food delivery habit during the pandemic and never ditched it, you’re not alone. Florida residents spent nearly $4,000 a year on takeout and delivery, according to a recent study.

The study on takeout order habits is by Betway, an online gambling company, and its researcher used their sportsbook chops and math know-how in an analysis of what people order most for takeout — pizza won by a mile, with Chinese food a distant second — and how much they spend.

The data dive shows Florida consumers spend about $3,886 a year on takeout. Besides pizza and Chinese food, other go-to cuisines for takeout are, in order of preference, sushi, tacos, Mexican food, Indian food, ramen, salad, Italian food and burritos.
