1. Opa-Locka Mayor Matthew Pigatt resigned during a commission meeting this week saying "I could not stop the corruption." Pigatt's resignation was not on the agenda and threw off attendees at the meeting on Wednesday. (CBS Miami)

2. The Army Corps of Engineers’ delivery of 830,000 cubic yards of sand to Miami Beach is ready to start this month. It is the most in a decade and the schedule depends on sea turtles and wildlife. The $40.5 million project is paid for by the federal government. (Miami Today)

3. A K9 named Rit with Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue is going into retirement. He retired earlier this year after serving since 2013 and then was brought out of retirement to help with the Surfside collapse. (WSVN)
