Man Taken Into Custody After Crash

MIAMI, FL — A man suffering from what appeared to be straight-edged weapon wounds was taken into custody Saturday after being involved in a motor vehicle crash in northwest Miami-Dade County.

The incident happened around 5:43 pm in the 9300 block of NW 30 Court, according to Detective Lee Cowart of the Miami-Dade Police Department.

Cowart said police were investigating a report of an assault that just taken place in the area..

"MDFR transported the victim to an area hospital. The subject had fled the scene in a vehicle," Cowart said. " A short distance from the scene, the subject crashed the vehicle and was subsequently taken into custody."
