Miami Beach Teen Falls To Death On Eve Of 16th Birthday
A 15-year-old boy fell eight stories to his death on the eve of his birthday when he got locked out of his mother's oceanfront apartment.
MIAMI BEACH, FL — A 15-year-old boy fell eight stories to his death on the eve of his birthday when he got locked out of his mother's oceanfront apartment Tuesday and tried to climb down onto an outside balcony from the unit above.
The teen was identified as Samuel Isaac Farkas, who lived with his mother on the eighth floor of La Costa Condomium at 5333 Collins Ave., according to Miami Beach police.

The incident happened around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, one day before Farkas would have celebrated his 16th birthday on Wednesday.
"It appears that the deceased lost his grip and fell from the ninth floor onto the mezzanine floor," stated a preliminary police report.

Farkas was pronounced dead on the scene.
His parents were identified as Rebecca Jane Brock of Miami Beach and Michael David Farkas of Miami.
