Miami-Dade Clinics Offer Free Back-To-School Vaccinations

Unvaccinated children entering Miami-Dade County Public Schools for the 2019-2020 school year can get free back-to-school shots on Aug. 17.

MIAMI, FL — Unvaccinated children entering Miami-Dade County Public Schools for the 2019-2020 school year can get free shots on Aug. 17 at multiple locations.

Shots will be available at the Downtown Clinic, the West Perrine Center and more than a dozen other locations, according to Miami-Dade school officials.

"As a reminder, all students entering or returning to school must have their immunizations up to date," according to a spokesperson for Miami-Dade County Public Schools.

You can find the complete list of locations and times on the school district website. The Downtown Clinic is located at 1350 NW 14th Street in Miami. West Perrine Center is located at 18255 Homestead Avenue, Miami.

Alternatively, parents may contact their family healthcare provider to obtain the necessary shots at the regular cost.

When visiting a clinic, parents are asked to bring their child’s immunization records and pay attention to clinic hours. A parent or guardian must be present to obtain a free vaccination.
