Miami Man Charged In Home Invasion Murder

A 28-year-old Miami man known as "Lil Boo" has been charged with murder and related offenses in connection with a weekend slaying.

MIAMI, FL — A 28-year-old Miami man known as "Lil Boo" has been charged with first-degree murder and related offenses in connection with a weekend slaying that occurred during a home invasion in Northwest Miami-Dade. Walter Ray Kyles III was also charged with home invasion and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon as well as aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Victor Carter and his girlfriend were sleeping when they were awakened by an intruder, who ordered them to leave while he removed a television and other items, according to Miami police. The incident occurred in the 1400 block of NW 45 Street shortly after 1 a.m. on Jan. 6.

Kyles allegedly opened fire on the couple with a rifle as they walked along the street. Carter was struck but his girlfriend managed to get away.

"The deceased victim was struck multiple times and expired on the scene as a result," according to court documents.
