Miami Marlins Go Back To School For Healthy Meals
Martin Prado and some of his teammates from the Miami Marlins went back to school recently at the Charles R. Drew K-8 Center.

MIAMI, FL — Martin Prado and some of his teammates from the Miami Marlins went back to school recently at the Charles R. Drew K-8 Center as players helped stock the food pantry for students ahead of the 2019-2020 school year.
"We had a great event in Liberty City," said Jon Erik Alvarez of the Marlins organization. "In addition to Prado, other players at the event were Curtis Granderson, Sandy Alcantara, Lewis Brinson, Jon Berti, Elieser Hernandez and Harold Ramirez."

"Our organization remains focused on creating positive impact in South Florida, and the installation of this food pantry will go a long way in aiding these students’ wellness and education," said Jeter. "We look forward to our continued presence and interaction with the students at Charles Drew and the Liberty City neighborhood.”
The food pantry will offer students non-perishable healthy dietary staples, such as cereal, rice, oatmeal, dry milk and healthy snacks, according to the Marlins.

"Through the support of the Miami Marlins Foundation, the food pantry will operate daily to aid in preventing that any student in the Charles R. Drew community goes to bed hungry," the team said.
