Miami Police Officer Charged With Battery

MIAMI, FL — A veteran Miami police sergeant has been charged with battery, according to police and court records.

Officer Kiara Delva of the Miami Police Department identified the officer as Yaosca Vanegas, a 13-year veteran of the force.

Delva said she did not have any additional information on the case as of late Monday afternoon.

Local 10 News reported that the arrest stemmed from a domestic incident involving the officer's boyfriend.
