MIAMI, FL — A weather disturbance over the weekend is expected to bring possible heavy rainfall and minor flooding through Sunday, according to the National Weather Service in Miami.

"Minor tidal flooding is also possible during this morning's high tide along the Atlantic coast," said weather officials early Saturday.

Periods of minor tidal flooding was observed during Friday's high tide," weather officials explained. "Periods of heavy rainfall are possible this weekend, especially during the afternoon."

Weather officials said to expect total rainfall of between 1 to 3 inches through Sunday with higher amounts up to 4 inches possible in some areas.

"The greatest rain totals are expected for the east coast metro areas," according to weather officials. "Tide levels are running around 1 foot above predictions."

Weather officials warned to expect possible tidal flooding between 9 a.m. and noon along the Atlantic coast and the Intracoastal Waterway.
