FL Golfer Beaten To Death With Own Clubs In 'Random Act Of Violence'

A naked man was arrested on a murder charge after beating a FL golfer with his own clubs and holding his head underwater, reports said.

PALM BEACH GARDENS, FL — A naked man was charged with first-degree murder after attacking another man at a South Florida golf course Monday afternoon, according to multiple reports.

Police said Junior Boucher, 36, of West Palm Beach killed the victim, 65-year-old Brian Hiltebeitel, using the golfer’s own golf clubs to attack him around 1:30 p.m. at Sandhill Crane Golf Club, a city-owned course in Palm Beach Gardens.

Police said the attack appears to be “a random act of violence,” ABC News said.

Witnesses told police that Boucher first hit the victim with a golf club near the first hole, according to The Palm Beach Post.

They also heard Hiltebeitel yell “he’s trying to kill me” several times, according to reports.

Boucher grabbed a second club and chased Hiltebeitel to the pond, where he held the victim’s head underwater while choking him, Newsweek reported.

Even when Hiltebeitel stopped moving in the water, Boucher hit the victim’s head several more times, according to the reports.

Boucher then stripped down naked just before police responded to the golf course and took him into custody, reports said.

Before his arrest, he tried to run from the scene and led officers on a short chase. Police apprehended him “only after the use of an electronic control weapon,” NBC Miami said.

About an hour before Monday's violent attack, Boucher’s family reported him as a missing person to the Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office, though details about that weren’t available, reports said.

Boucher has a history of arrests and previous charges included drug possession, domestic violence and resisting arrest.
