Here are the top stories today in Miami:

1. A Miami Beach commission candidate used a fake 911 call in a campaign flyer. Candidate Melissa Beattie says the goal of the flyer is to draw attention to the issue of crime in the area, but is being criticized by political consultants. (WPLG Local 10)

2. There is hope that a shuttered Miami Beach theater, Byron Carlyle theater, will get restored by the city, which agreed to put $400,000 on reserve to possibly be used for a conceptual design. There is still plenty to do, though, before that can happen. (Miami Today)

3. Miami-Dade County Public Schools has announced a change to quarantine policies for middle schoolers that emulates the current high school policy. The district will not be removing the mask mandate despite threats from the state. (NBC Miami)

4. Spirit Airlines has 31 Miami International Airport (MIA) routes that will launch by January 2022, perhaps the biggest expansion during the pandemic. Cities include Atlanta, Las Vegas, Chicago, and more. (The Points Guy)

5. Work is ongoing for Miami's new courthouse that will cost $852 million dollars when completed. The new courthouse will replace one built in 1928 that is decaying. Completion is expected in 2024. (The Next Miami)
