Phony Landscapers Steal Thousands In Jewelry From Elderly Couple
Phony landscapers stole $30,000 in jewelry from an elderly couple in Miami-Dade County and police are asking for the public's help.

MIAMI, FL — Phony landscapers stole $30,000 in jewelry from the home of an elderly couple in Miami-Dade County and police are asking for the public's help in finding them.
Detective Chris Thomas of the Miami-Dade Police Department on Tuesday released forensic sketches of the couple who posed as landscapers during a May 29 burglary in the 7900 block of Camino Circle. The incident happened around 3 p.m.
Eighty-eight-year-old Enrique Macia and his 82-year-old wife Raquel were distracted by one of the thieves, according to Thomas.

"The female subject distracted the husband and wife by luring them outside, while the male subject went inside the home and stole approximately $30,000 worth of jewelry," he said. "Once the subjects left the residence, the victims noticed their jewelry was taken and called the police."
Thomas said the phony landscapers were both between 40 to 60 years of age. The man was about 5 feet 4 inches tall, 160 pounds with short black hair. He was wearing a khaki shirt and navy blue pants.

The man's female accomplice was 5 feet 2 inches tall and 180 pounds with short, black uncombed hair. She was wearing a white V-neck T-shirt and pants.
