WASHINGTON, DC — President Donald Trump said on Twitter late Friday afternoon that he plans to announce his 2020 re-election bid in Florida. The president tweeted that he will travel to Orlando on June 18 to make the announcement at the Amway Center.

A crowded field of two dozen Democrats that includes former Vice President Joe Biden, Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren, former Texas Congressman Beto O’Rourke, South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg and Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand of New York are all jockeying to face Trump in next year's general election.

Former Ohio Gov. John Kasich also took to Twitter Friday to say that he hasn't ruled out a run against the president in 2020.

"Know that while the path looks tough, all of my options are on the table," tweeted Kasich, who was among a field of some 16 challengers Trump bested for the Republican nomination in 2016. "Like all of you, I want our country to be united, forward looking and problem solving."

Trump said he will be accompanied by First Lady Melania Trump, Vice President Mike Pence and Karen Pence.

According to the website, DonaldJTrump.com, the campaign event will start at 8 p.m. The Amway Center is located at 400 W Church Street.

In 2016, a strong voter turnout helped propel Trump to the White House over former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton as the businessman carried the Sunshine State.
