Slain Miami Strip Club Employee Identified
A 31-year-old employee of Booby Trap on the River was slain early Thursday morning outside the club. Another employee was shot.

MIAMI, FL — A 31-year-old employee of a Miami strip club who was slain early Thursday morning has been identified as Jose D. Otero of Coral Springs. He and fellow employee Eric Bauer were shot moments after a group of men were escorted from Booby Trap On The River, according to Miami-Dade police.
Det. Angel Rodriguez of the Miami-Dade Police Department said gunfire erupted around 6:38 a.m. outside the club, which is located at 3650 NW South River Drive.

"Uniform officers responded to a club in reference to a shooting. Upon their arrival, they discovered an unconscious male suffering from a gunshot wound," said Rodriguez. "Miami-Dade Fire Rescue responded to the scene and determined the victim deceased."
Rodriguez said that several men got into a physical altercation at the club. "Club security intervened and escorted all parties off the property," he said. "Moments later, several vehicles traveling westbound came to a stop in front of the business. The subject(s) exited the vehicle and opened fire toward the business, striking two employees."

The 46-year-old Bauer showed up at Jackson Memorial Hospital suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper extremity, according to Rodriguez.
No other injuries were reported.
