Slaying Of Miami Realtor Linked To Domestic Violence
Investigators say a 70-year-old Miami real estate agent was the victim of domestic violence in northeast Miami-Dade.

MIAMI, FL — Friends and colleagues of a 70-year-old Miami real estate agent are still reeling from her slaying and wondering what could have led the woman's son-in-law to take her life and later turn the gun on himself. Miami-Dade police are calling the incident a domestic-related murder-suicide.
"Uniform patrol officers responded to a home regarding reports of a woman shot," explained Chris Thomas of the Miami-Dade Police Department. "Arriving officers discovered a female inside of a car with gunshot wounds to the head."
Thomas said that the incident took place shortly before 5 p.m. Monday in the 2100 Block of NE 211th Street. Police did not release the woman's name because she is the victim of domestic violence. But news reports identified her as Linda Marx.

"Apparently they had a tumultuous relationship," Thomas told Patch. "It's something that's been going on for a long while."
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue. Police are not looking for anyone else in connection with the slaying, according to Thomas.

"City of Hollywood police officers approached the subject’s vehicle and learned that he sustained an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound," said Thomas.
