Here are the top stories in Miami today:
1. David Grutman and restaurant group Groot Hospitality are opening a new American-cuisine Coconut Grove restaurant this winter called the Key Club. The group also owns a number of South Florida restaurants including Papi Steak, Planta, Swan — to name a few. (Eater Miami)

2. South Florida Black Friday shoppers turned out early with a Walmart in Miami Gardens having its parking lot full before 7 a.m. on Friday. Some shoppers arrived as early as 4 a.m. The National Retail Federation predicts that close to two million more people compared to last year will hit stores between Thanksgiving and Cyber Monday. 3. Wynwood added 20 new murals and more space for its upcoming Miami Art Week, happening from November 29th to December 5th. Big crowds are expected for the event this year. In 2019, Wynwood received around 350,000 visitors during Art Basel and Miami Art Week. Preparations are being made to accommodate the crowds. (Miami Today)
4. Local businesses in Miami are looking forward to Small Business Saturday today as way to help them continue their recovery from the pandemic. Participating small businesses include The Wharf, Luna Bohemia, Sweat Records, Tony Mendoza Art, and more. American Express estimates that 67 cents of every $1 spent remains in the local community. 5. The World Health Organization (WHO) on Friday classified a worrying new COVID-19 variant, first detected in South Africa, as a highly transmissible virus of concern and named it "Omicron." The variant has been detected in travelers from southern Africa to Belgium, Botswana, Hong Kong and Israel. (Bay News 9)
