1. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue officials confirmed that they responded to reports of a boat with more than 100 migrants on board that had possibly capsized early Monday morning near Ocean Reef. Sources say the migrants are from Haiti. (WPLG Local 10)
2. The Miami Dolphins fired coach Brian Flores on Monday, a surprising move that came less than 24 hours after the team finished a 9-8 season. Flores went 24-25 in his three seasons in Miami. (WSVN)
3. 80.7% of allocated COVID-19 vaccines in Florida have been administered to residents as of January 6th, in line with the national average of 81.4% and the 23rd largest share of all states. In Florida, 44.7% of adults who have not yet received the vaccine report they will probably not or definitely not get a vaccine in the future, the third-smallest share of any state. (Florida Patch)
4. 28-year-old South Florida teacher, Philip Velez, has been arrested after being accused of sexual misconduct with a minor. Velez was a culinary arts teacher and basketball coach at Charles W. Flanagan High School. (WSVN)
