MIAMI, FL — Traffic was disrupted for a time early Thursday as crews worked to remove an 18-wheeler from the eastbound I-395 overpass. Miami police said NW 14 Street was shut down for a time between 1 and 3 Avenue. The road later reopened.

The truck got stuck in the overpass just before 10 p.m. Wednesday night, according to Capt. Ignatius Carroll of Miami Fire Rescue, who said that the driver managed to get out of the vehicle before first responders arrived.

"According to the driver, he was just clearing the expressway overpass when the trailer snagged the outer wall of the highway," said Carroll. "The driver quickly exited the truck and contacted his supervisor."

"The Department of Transportation was notified to assess the damage and assist with the removal of the tractor-trailer," Carroll added.
