1. Ultra Music Festival is returning to Bayfront Park in 2022. The popular EDM Festival was cancelled twice during the pandemic. Headliners include David Guetta, DJ Snake, Zeds Dead, Alesso, Carl Cox and more. (NBC Miami)
2. New hotel brand: Hotel AKA Brickell is set to open in Miami in the former Conrad Miami Hotel building. The hotel is 36 stories and features 201 rooms with a panoramic view of Biscayne Bay and Miami's cityscape. Minor renovations will take place while the hotel remains open until the spring of 2022 to bring the full AKA brand to Miami. (Ocean Drive Magazine)
3. Barbakoa by Finka is now serving Latin and Asian fusion cuisine, cocktails, and more inside Doral Yard at 8455 NW 53rd Street, Suite G106. The project is by Eileen Andrade. The space also has an open kitchen for guests to watch meals created in front of their eyes. (Eater Miami)
4. Homelessness Fight: City of Miami commissioners are set to vote on an ordinance that would make homeless encampments illegal. The vote has drawn protests from homeless activists who say the city is criminalizing homelessness. It gives police the authority to give violators written warnings and instruct them to go to a shelter. Those who refused could be arrested. (CBS Miami)
5. A South Florida man, 29-year-old Samuel Baptiste, pled guilty to attempting to materially support terrorism after posting bomb-making instructions for ISIS terrorists. He faces a maximum sentence of up to 15 years in prison, a lifetime of supervised release and a $250,000 fine. (Patch Miami)
