MIAMI, FL — Miami administrative offices will be closed Thursday, July 4, in observance of Independence Day. But not everything will be shut down for the holiday.
The Department of Solid Waste will be conducting regularly-scheduled garbage, bulky trash and recycle pick up on Thursday.
Residents whose bulky trash is always collected on Thursday should place their items out as they usually do.

Place garbage, recycle carts and bulky trash out in front of their home on the public right of way and away from phones/cable/electricity lines, under trees, utility poles, fire hydrants, fences, vehicles and/or 5 feet away from any structure, according to city officials.
Residents can also dispose of their bulky items at the Department of Solid Waste Mini Dump Facility, which will also be open on July 4. The Mini Dump Facility will be open on Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 1 p.m. Proof of City of Miami Residency is required.
