Halfway to the weekend...

  1. There’s a 20-percent chance of rain or thunderstorms today. Otherwise, it will be mostly sunny with temperatures reaching a high near 83.
  2. Congrats to former  Seven Springs Middle students for getting a mention that will be used in classrooms countywide. Their effort to protect sandhill cranes earns them a page.
  3. The city manager got tentative permission last night to pay a local public relations firm to temporarily act as marketing director for the New Port Richey Recreation and Aquatic Center. Discussions on whether to fill the position permanently will continue over the next few months
  4. The Pack-A-Sack donation drive, which seeks food items for school children continues today. You can drop donations off at , 2852 Seven Springs Blvd, New Port Richey, FL.
