Call for Action for Ridge Road Extension

Donna Cardellino, a commercial real estate agent who says she lives in West Pasco, is trying to rally support to get a permit for the long-stalled extension of Ridge Road east to Suncoast Parkway, and then to U.S.  41 in a second leg, approved by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Find out more in the Suncoast News article.

Find out more about it here, but note the fire mentioned happened at a neighbor's house, not her own. http://suncoastpasco.tbo.com/content/2011/oct/29/PGNEWSO1-business-leaders-rally-for-ridge-road-ext/

“Please be aware that the Army Corp. of Engineers will be conducting a 30 day public comment period on the Ridge Road Extension permit in the next few WEEKS.  This is a project that has been delayed for 10 years and is a critical issue for Pasco County’s future.  The hearing date is not posted yet, but the Corps is already receiving communications from environmentalists not living in the communities and others opposing the permit. The Corp needs to hear from YOU in support of the Ridge Road extension and to hear support.

The Ridge Road extension will ease traffic congestion, save fuel by providing more direct routes across the middle of the county, contribute to public health and safety by providing evacuation access in the event of flood or fire especially for people living in Rosewood, Sablewood, and the River Ridge High School, and of course contribute to economic development and job creation by linking the US 19, Suncoast Parkway, and US 41 corridors.

Please mail your letters to the contact person below and call.  It is critical that the Corps receives your input of support to Extend Ridge Road.
