According to Pasco County Sheriff’s deputies, Kevin Geddes was swinging the boy in the yard of Geddes' home at 4506 Floramar Terrace in Gulf Harbors on Saturday evening. Geddes was apparently very inebriated, according to Sheriff's Office spokesman Doug Tobin. The yard is adjacent to a canal.
Geddes fell into a canal with the boy, according to deputies. Still, he refused help from witnesses. The boy was taking in water and appeared to be drowning. A witness jumped into the canal and saved the boy. The boy was given CPR and regained consciousness.

He was airlifted to All Children's Hospital and is expected to recover
Geddes was arrested and charged with aggravated child abuse.
