Arrest Made In Port Richey Stabbing

A 30-year-old New Port Richey man faces criminal charges after deputies say he stabbed an acquaintance multiple times.

PORT RICHEY, FL — A 30-year-old New Port Richey man faces criminal charges after Pasco County Sheriff’s deputies say a dispute took a violent turn Saturday night.

According to the agency, a dispute between two men broke out shortly before 11:30 p.m. June 17 at a home in the 8600 block of Leo Kidd Avenue in Port Richey. At some point during the argument, Norberto Armando Rodriguez is accused of picking up a kitchen knife and stabbing Curtis Neff, 31, multiple times in the arm. The stabbing, an arrest report said, was witnessed by another man.

Deputies say Rodriguez also threatened another man, saying “I’m going to slice you,” according to the arrest report.

Rodriguez was charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and aggravated assault. He “admitted he stabbed the victim, but claimed it was in self-defense,” an email from the sheriff’s office said. Witness statements, however, did not support his claim, the agency noted.

Rodriguez remained in the Pasco County Jail Monday in lieu of $15,00 bond, jail records indicate.
