Caretaker Accused of Theft

Peter Evan Weinstein was charged with two counts of dealing in stolen property and one count of grand theft.

A Trinity area caretaker stands accused of stealing jewelry and a cell phone. 

Peter Evan Weinstein, 29, this year stole two gold necklaces, a diamond pendant, a gold wedding ring and a cell phone from a victim living in the Port Richey area, according to an arrest report from the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office. The total value of the loot is $2,700. 

Weinstein worked as a caretaker for the victim’s parents, who are now dead, according to the report.  He had full access to the stolen items while employed by the victim, according to the report.

He later pawned the loot.

Weinstein, of 7815 Jenner Ave, Trinity, was arrested Tuesday and charged with two counts of dealing in stolen property and one count of grand theft. He was booked into the Land O’ Lakes jail and remained there Thursday in lieu of $22,000 bail.
