Citrus Springs Woman Fatally Struck By SUV While Standing In SR 54

PASCO COUNTY, FL — A pedestrian died Thursday after being struck by an SUV on State Road 54, west of Celtic Drive.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, at 8:15 p.m., a 50-year-old Lutz man was driving a sports utility vehicle east on State Road 54.

For unknown reasons, a 31-year-old Citrus Springs woman was standing on the dark roadway when the SUV struck her, troopers said.

She was taken to the hospital where she later died.
