Convicted Felon From New Port Richey Headed To Prison For Having Gun
A New Port Richey police K-9 alerted police to the presence of the gun in the car.

NEW PORT RICHEY, FL — U.S. District Judge Charlene Edwards Honeywell has sentenced Patraic Setzer, 29, of New Port Richey to three years and five months in federal prison for possessing a firearm as a felon.
The court also ordered Setzer to forfeit a Sig Sauer firearm. Setzer pleaded guilty on Feb. 7.
According to court documents, New Port Richey police officers conducted a traffic stop on Setzer, a six-time convicted felon, on May 31. A police K-9 alerted police to something in the car and, when officers searched, they found a loaded Sig Sauer.

Setzer was on federal supervised release at the time, following a sentence in the Bureau of Prisons for being a felon in possession of a firearm. As such, he is prohibited from possessing a firearm or ammunition under federal law.
