PASCO COUNTY, FL — Troopers say two Spring Hills residents are lucky to be alive after their Chevy Corvette struck a guardrail at a high rate of speed.

On Wednesday at 10: 37 a.m., an 18-year-old Spring Hill man was speeding south on State Road 39 just south of State Road 52 when the driver lost control and hit the guardrail, said the Florida Highway Patrol.

The driver and his passenger, an 18-year-old Spring Hill woman, were airlifted to the hospital in serious condition.
