Deputies Seek Tips in New Port Richey Area Robberies

Pasco County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating a string of strong arm robberies in West Pasco.

According to Sheriff’s Office spokesman Kevin Doll, deputies are searching for a suspect who attacked two women.

Just before 4 p.m. Sunday, the suspect “forcibly” took a purse from a 73-year-old woman at Sunset Bay Apartments, 7334 Kauai Loop in New Port Richey, according to a press release from Doll.

“The suspect pushed the elderly woman down and caused her to suffer a broken hip,” Doll wrote in the release. “The victim is still hospitalized for her injuries."

A few hours prior, the suspect approached a woman who was on a smoke break behind the Central Park Family Restaurant, at 7657 State Road 54 in the New Port Richey area.

He demanded the woman give him her money and then reached into the front pocket of an apron tied around the woman’s waist.

“The victim fought with the suspect attempting to prevent him from taking her tip money from her pocket,” Doll wrote. “The suspect punched the victim in the stomach and pushed her down. He ripped her apron off her waist and fled on foot.”

The suspect is described as as a white male between 20 and 25 years of age. He is about 5 feet, 8 inches tall and weighs about 160 pounds. The man is also described as having a fair complexion, scruffy beard, dark brown hair and light blue eyes. He was last seen wearing a brown T-shirt, brown and blue ball cap, and oversized blue jean shorts.
