Main Street Businesses Showing Signs of Life
Work is being done on a property city officials say might become a grocery market and cafe, and an antique shop is getting ready to open its doors.
It appears something new is developing at the old service station at the corner of Grand Boulevard and Main Street in New Port Richey.
Construction equipment has been a frequent sight on the property at 5731 Main St. recently.
The property was purchased from John and Carolyn Herig this past September for $350,000. Turksavas Bektas and Teoman Markal now own it, according to Pasco County property records.

City staff says the proposed use for the property is a grocery market and cafe.
Bektas was too tied up with getting the business ready to discuss plans right now, but Patch hopes to catch up with him later.

That incoming business isn't the only one getting ready to open its doors along Main Street. A storefront on the corner of Main and Adams Street is filling up with antiques.
Owner Don Post is hoping to open up the Antique Center at Main Street, 5811 Main St., on June 1.
