Man Arrested in Connection to Holiday Shooting

The victim was shot in the face and buttocks area.

A man wanted in connection with a January shooting in Holiday has been arrested on Florida’s Treasure Coast.

According to the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office, Troy Anthony Garner Jr., 22, was arrested in Stuart on a Pasco County warrant Wednesday. He was nabbed by the U.S. Marshall's Fugitive Task Force and the Martin County Sheriff's Office.

On that date, Evan Cesarek, 34, went to 5639 Cheyenne Drive in Holiday at night. Detectives believe he went there to confront someone. While at the address, Cesarek was shot in the face and buttocks area. A friend and girlfriend took him to a hospital. Cesarek was arrested in the following months on a charge of DUI damage to property and retail theft.

The Fugitive Task Force learned that Garner was at 3468 S.E. Iris Ave. in Stuart. Authorities forced entry into the home and took him into custody shortly before noon Wednesday.

Garner, of 5429 Flora Drive in Holiday, was charged on the warrant with attempted murder in the second degree and violation of probation.
