After Attending Court Together, Man Attacks Woman

After he appeared in court, Daymon Demetrius Edmonds attacked a woman who was a witness in his case.

A man stands accused of attacking a West Pasco woman who is also a witness in a legal case the man is involved in.

On Wednesday, Daymon Demetrius Edmonds, 41, allegedly hit the woman, who was his live-in girlfriend of nearly six years, repeatedly on the head, face, back and upper body with open hand and closed fist, according to a Pasco County Sheriff’s Office arrest report.

At some point, the man sat on her chest and drove his knee into her throat while he punched her in the face, according to the report. The woman told deputies he also strangled her with his hands, causing her to “black out.”

Edmonds was arrested Wednesday in the case of the attack and charged with battery by strangulation, aggravated assault and tampering with a witness. He remained in the Land O' Lakes Jail Thursday in lieu of $55,000 bail.
