New Port Richey Man Accused of Attacking Woman

Troy Lamberton punched a woman and kicked an arresting New Port Richey police officer.

A New Port Richey man is accused of punching a woman in the face at Main Street Food Mart convenience store in New Port Richey.

The incident occured on Thursday. It started when the woman noticed Troy Lamberton threatening a man inside the store at 5912 Main Street, according to a New Port Richey Police Department arrest report.

The woman intervened, giving the man who was threatened time to flee. Lamberton then punched the woman in the face, knocking her glasses off.

He then ran toward Madison Street.

When told he was under arrest, he began to resist.  He spit in the officer’s face and kicked him in the stomach before being locked in a patrol car.  He kicked the patrol car window and damaged the patrol car window and door frame once inside.

Lamberton, of 6208 Arthur Street, New Port Richey, was arrested Thursday and charged with battery on a law enfircement officer, simple battery and criminal mischief. He remained in jail Monday morning on $5,300 bail.
