New Port Richey Resident in Jail for Sexual Battery

A 19-year-old from New Port Richey has been arrested for sexual battery of a woman who was drunk, according to the .

Randy Thompson, of Seron Circuit, told deputies in an interview that he rubbed a 22-year-old woman’s crotch and had sex with her, both without her consent, on Sunday. After being read the Miranda Rights, Thompson told deputies that he had known the woman was drunk, and he had made a “mistake.”

Thompson has been booked in the Land O’ Lakes Jail on a charge of sexual battery of a woman who is physically incapacitated. His bond is $100,000.

Thompson was socializing with the woman around 1 a.m. Sunday and placed a hand over the woman’s vagina without her consent, keeping it there for several minutes, deputies reported.  He removed her panties and shirt and had sex with her for three minutes, deputies reported.

Two witnesses, friends of Thompson and the victim, walked in on Thompson zipping up his pants and adjusting his clothing.  A witness accused Thompson of raping the woman. He fled.

The report says evidence of penetration was found after the woman underwent a medical exam.
