NEW PORT RICHEY, FL — A New Port Richey woman is a million dollars richer thanks to a scratch-off game she played.

According to Florida Lottery, Lora Tanouis, 58, of New Port Richey, won the huge jackpot playing Gold Rush Limited.

She purchased her winning ticket from AZ Shop, located at 6022 State Road 54 in New Port Richey, lottery officials said.

She chose to receive her winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $795 million.

The retailer will receive a $2,000 bonus commission for selling the winning ticket, lottery officials said.

The lottery's $20 scratch-off game, Gold Rush Limited, features 32 top prizes of $5 million and 100 prizes of $1 million. Additionally, the ticket is filled with over 33,000 prizes of $1,000 to $100,000!

Lottery officials said scratch-off games comprised approximately 75 percent of ticket sales and generated more than $1.3 billion for the Educational Enhancement Trust Fund (EETF) in fiscal year 2020-21.
